Tree Stencils like trees can take on many forms and shapes. Here are a few examples and a tip to create you own unique design.
Nature is often the subject matter for art. Whether plants and trees are the focal point or part of the background their presence can add just the right touch of color or texture desired.
Here’s an artistic sketch of a tree. I used this one several times overlapping itself in slightly different sized in slightly different earth tones (just one shade off). It make a great backdrop for other designs and pairs wonderfully with Stenciling Letters that will help you put a special sentiment or personalize your art.
Wouldn’t this look great on a wall. Imagine a light grayish-tan wall with these in very pale earthy greens and browns. You can paint some as they are and flip a few over to make it look like a wintery forest. The possibilities are endless with very simple designs like this. Enjoy and most of all if you use it please share it with all of us.
To add a little more of nature to the trees consider pairing them with
Deer Stencils.
I love this guy. He’s a perfect addition to any Halloween decor. Put him on paper bags to send out with your little trick-or-treaters, or better yet paint them on a canvas bag for year-to-year use.
Also, if you like to make special treats for the little ghouls closest to your heart why not paint him on small bags and fill them with the goodies you want to give.
I’m sure you can come up with many other ideas for this special little tree in some of your
Halloween Crafts.
Palm Tree Stencils (like this one) are useful in creating a tropical paradise feeling. Paired with earthy greens and tans, you can make your home have a spa-like atmosphere. For more on using this stencil form head over to Palm Tree Wall Stencils. Of course, this design can be used for much more than just walls.
Don't forget that this stencil can be sized to fit your project area on a copy machine or if you are doing a mural and need it life size just bring it to a Document Printer and have them enlarge it.
Then before you cut out the openings, cover it with a clear coating like clear shelf liner so that you can use it again and again.
Since we touched on the fact that a Palm Tree Stencil can create a tropical atmosphere then we should consider that other types of trees can do as much to create the environment we might be looking for. For example, I'm from New Orleans and here in South Louisiana we find a lot of murals with swamp scenes and the Cypress Tree is central to this theme. Are you trying to recreate the feeling from where you grew up or a place that maybe you enjoyed a great vacation? What trees are indigenous for that area and what other plant or foliage would help make the scene? Can you see now how tree stencils can play a big role in your art?
Maybe you're looking for a tree stencil with a Holiday Spirit. After all, when December rolls around and we talk about trees, that usually means the one we place inside our homes to decorate. You can find a few more of these at Christmas Tree Stencils along with many ideas on creating with them.
So what if you need a particular tree stencil and you just can't find one already done. Here's a tip: find a picture of one that is perfect for what you have in mind. Trace the outline onto some tracing paper. Once on tracing paper you can re-size on a copy machine to fit your project area (like mentioned above). You'll find more information about this at How to Make a Stencil along with tips for adding as much detail as needed with multi layer designs.
